La L-Carnitine is a transporter of fatty acids (lipids) to the mitochondria, responsible for the production of cell energy, but it is also the place where these fatty acids are converted into energy.
It is important to note that there are two forms of “Carnitine”: L-Carnitine and D-Carnitine. Both “Carnitines” appear during the synthesis process of “L-Carnitine” but only the “L” form is biologically active.
